About the role

Our Finance Assistants work closely with Finance & Operations team to support the delivery of high-quality administrative support to the Accounts team.

Based in our Melbourne office, you will respond to day-to-day enquiries and provide assistance to the Accounts Clerks. You will be responsible for daily banking, data entry and archiving relating to accounts payable, receivable, and controlled monies. You will also perform daily bank reconciliations and other administrative tasks where appropriate, alongside supporting the Accounts Payable, Receivable or Controlled Monies teams when required.

Key skills

  • Ability to liaise with all internal and external clients, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and discretion
  • Attention to detail with a high level of numeracy skill
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize work according to urgency
  • Familiarity with or the ability to train in the use of Word and Excel and a computerized practice management system such as Aberrant Expert

About you

We are looking for a Finance Assistant who is looking to expand on their career with a professional services firm. To be successful in this role, you will have at least 12 months of experience working in a similar role for a large client base in a professional services firm or corporate environment and your Victorian Certificate of Education or equivalent.

Technical skills aside, you will actively take the next step to go above and beyond in all aspects of this role. You’ll be passionate about the delivery of first-class client service and will have excellent communication skills. You will use your innovative problem-solving skills to patiently listen, understand and resolve issues faced by our staff. You will also have outstanding time management and organizational skills and are comfortable working with minimal supervision and receiving virtual support from your team.

Overall, you will be skilled in delivering on quality and eager to provide people-focused support to Maddocks staff nationally.
