Banking Consultant

Are you looking for a career in banking and financial services? Our team at our Collins Street offices in Melbourne CBD are wanting to recruit people who are customer obsessed and have intermediate computer literacy skills.

This is a hybrid role requiring 50% attendance at our Melbourne office. Successful applicants will need to be able to work a mix of in office (two days per week) and at home once they move to their regular shift pattern.

We are looking for those who will provide brilliant customer service by making the complex simple, whilst ensuring our customer needs are met via our inbound contact center.

Hours & Training

Start Date for this intake is Monday 10th July.

We are recruiting for 5 days per week permanent full time positions across the following shift pattern:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday with start window of 7am-10am

A ‘start window’ means you that you can be rostered on to commence your shift during these times. This roster will be provided at least 4 weeks in advance.

We provide 7 weeks full-time paid training, Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm before you move into your shift pattern. The initial 7 weeks of training will be a mix of classroom and on the job style training, onsite at our Collins Street, Melbourne office, which also includes high support training to ensure you are appropriately skilled and set up for success in this role.

Please note that we are unable to cater to any holidays during the training period.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver excellent customer service and provide quick and excellent outcomes
  • Provide timely and accurate information on Everyday Banking enquiries, account openings and processes via telephone and/or online channels
  • Demonstrate the ability to listen, build trust and ask the right questions to exceed customers’ expectations and improve customer outcomes, resulting in excellent customer feedback
  • Contribute to a team culture that is balanced across people, customer, risk and performance

What you’ll bring

  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and proven customer service experience with demonstrated ability to connect with customers and find solutions
  • Ability to demonstrate strong technical skills and have experience navigating multiple systems
  • Excellent verbal communication skills – listen, build rapport, and communicate complex information
  • A high level of resilience and empathy and the ability to adapt to change
  • Previous call center experience is desired but not necessary. If you have a passion for serving customers, we will train you in the rest!
  • Committed to self-development and opportunities to increase capability in role. Demonstrated ability to work as a supportive team member
